Learning to Play Badminton
Learning to play badminton has been a fun, active hobby that I enjoy with my friends and family. I started playing badminton last summer, when my family bought a net and rackets for our backyard. At first, I was terrible—I could barely hit the shuttlecock, and I kept missing shots. But my dad taught me the basics: how to hold the racket, how to hit the shuttlecock (forehand and backhand), and how to serve. We played every evening, and slowly, I got better. I learned to jump to hit high shots, to run quickly to reach the shuttlecock, and to work with a partner in doubles. Now, I play badminton with my friends at the park and with my family in the backyard. It’s a fast-paced, exciting game that requires speed, agility, and focus. It’s also a great way to exercise and have fun at the same time. Learning to play badminton has taught me perseverance and sportsmanship—even when I lose, I have fun and try to do better next time. It’s a hobby that keeps me active and brings me closer to my friends and family, and I plan to keep playing for years.
