My School’s Photography Contest
My school held a photography contest last month, and I entered a photo I took of a sunset at the lake. I used my dad’s old camera. I woke up early to get to the lake before sunrise, but I stayed until sunset because the colors were better—orange, pink, and purple in the sky, reflecting on the water. I took 20 photos before getting the perfect one. When I submitted it, I was nervous—there were many good entries. Last week, the winners were announced. I got second place! I won a new camera bag and a photography book. The judge said my photo had “beautiful colors and a peaceful feeling.” I displayed my photo in the school hallway. My friends and teachers praised it. The contest made me love photography more. I now take my camera with me everywhere—when I walk to school, to the park, and to family trips. I’m going to enter more contests. Next time, I want to take a photo of birds in the park—maybe I’ll win first place!
