Learning to Speak Spanish with a Tutor

I started taking Spanish lessons with a tutor last month because I want to speak it when I travel to Spain next year. My tutor, Maria, is from Mexico, and she makes the lessons fun. We practice vocabulary first—words for food, animals, and places. Then, we have short conversations: I talk about my day, and she corrects my mistakes gently. At first, I was scared to speak because I didn’t want to mess up, but Maria said, “Mistakes are part of learning.” Last week, I had a 5 - minute conversation with her in Spanish—talking about my favorite hobbies and my plans for the weekend. I was so proud! Learning a new language is hard, but it’s exciting. Every time I learn a new word or have a conversation, I feel like I’m getting closer to my goal. I practice for 15 minutes every day, and I can’t wait to use my Spanish in Spain.
